There is hope for people with a droopy nose tip due to age or genetics. The nose is the part of the human facial anatomy that just happens to sit right in the middle of it all. It can’t be ignored because it occupies prime real estate. If the nose isn’t shaped well, it can be associated with social anxiety and body insecurity.
No doubt the popularity of smartphone cameras and selfies have led to increased scrutiny of the nose. The nose comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. The most common reasons why someone considers a nose job or rhinoplasty is because of a prominent hump, a wide nose, or an unrefined tip. These features often create an imbalance in the proportions of the nose and cause dissatisfaction with appearance.
“These differences are all inherited.”
The appearance of a droopy tip can result from several factors. The septum of the nose can be overgrown which results in a large nose with a prominent hump and a low tip. Weak nasal tip cartilages are unable to support the tip shape which results in a droopy tip relative to the dorsum (or bridge) of the nose. These differences are all inherited and outside of our control. Although they are “normal” variants of nose anatomy, many people simply don’t like them.
Compounding a weak, under-projecting and droopy tip is the fact that these noses often look more exaggerated when a person smiles. This is because of the way the natural muscles of the face work around the nose, making the tip droopier and the nostrils wider. This makes an unpleasant situation even worse!
“A smile should be a genuine, wonderful thing.”
No one wants to feel self-conscious about their smile. A smile should be a genuine, wonderful thing. Worrying whether or not people are looking at your nose when you’re smiling is a terrible way to live, but many people go through it every day. People hold back their true emotions and their true self, all because they’re worried about a droopy tip on their nose. That isn’t fair to them, and it isn’t fair to the people around them. They all deserve better.
The good news is that things can be done to change the features of the nose, so it no longer looks droopy and strange when you smile. An experienced rhinoplasty surgeon can reshape and rebalance the nose by reducing the hump and improving the size and shape of the tip. We can work with the anatomic features that mother nature gave you so your nose is better.
“A better nose, but still your nose.”
It can be a better nose but still your nose in the sense that the appearance is natural and normal. Most of your peeps won’t even know you had your nose done — but they’ll certainly notice something is different. This is the ideal result from an expert rhinoplasty.
There is the option to change that insecurity that sits in the middle of your face. Your job is to do your homework and engage experienced and trusted board-certified plastic surgeons.
