This young man developed gynecomastia since puberty. His mental burden is an 8 out of 10. You can see from the photos that he is very asymmetrical, with actual breast sagging on the left side. I can appreciate dense tissue on each side, more on the left. The skin on the left side is quite poor. His areola diameter is a lot larger on the left side and the level of his nipples is off considerable left to right. He is seen here after gynecomastia treatment surgery on both sides.
I removed a lot more tissue on the left side and I had to perform a “donut” shaped skin lift on that side to remove excess loose skin and to make the areola diameters the same if possible.
You can see how much actual tissue was removed from each side. The result is not perfect, but it is impressive and he and I are very pleased. The small depression on the left side could be improved a bit with some additional procedures but both of us agree that it really isn’t necessary. Compared to what he had this is a home run for sure.
I am most pleased with his scar around the left side as if this is poor it makes the area look like a “pizza pie” and it’s noticeable. I had him wear compression garments for a long time as well as silicone scar strips to make the best scar possible.
Best of all, what was an 8 out of 10 is now a 0. That’s the ultimate measure of gynecomastia success.
