This patient had a previous breast augmentation and lift many years ago. Over time, she decided she was ready for a change—she wanted her implants removed. Like many women, she simply felt “done” with them and was concerned that some of her health issues might be related to her implants.
As we age, our priorities evolve, and so does how we feel about our bodies. Many women who chose breast implants in their younger years now question whether their implants may be connected to their health concerns. While there is no strong scientific evidence that breast implants cause systemic illness, they are associated with local issues such as capsular contracture, implant displacement, rippling, and palpability—all of which can affect how the breasts look and feel.
Because I’ve been in practice for decades, I’ve had the privilege of caring for thousands of women at different stages of life. This experience gives me valuable perspective on the changes and challenges that come with time. My role is to provide experienced, balanced advice and to offer options that work for each woman—whether that means keeping, replacing, or removing implants. The goal is always to preserve the confidence and beauty that breast enhancement originally provided, while aligning with your current lifestyle and health priorities.
