Correcting Bottomed Out Breast Implants with Smaller Implants and a New Pocket

This patient came to me after a previous breast augmentation performed elsewhere using 325cc silicone implants placed under the muscle. Over time, her implants had bottomed out—a condition where the implants drop too low on the chest, causing the nipples to point upward and the natural breast shape to become distorted.

This patient had a previous breast augmentation and many years later wanted new, larger implants as well as a breast lift. She is seen here about 4 months out from her implant exchange (removal of 495cc smooth walled silicone implants below the muscle with 525 cc smooth walled silicone implants) and a bilateral lift/small reduction. You can appreciate that her breast appear a bit larger but most significantly, her breasts no longer sag, and they are firmer and her implant and breast tissue are “one”. She can expect some settling that will continue over time as the implants drop a bit. As always, if she wants to maintain her impressive results it is imperative that she wear a very supportive/shaping/lifting bra as much as possible.
