This is a 24 year old mother of one who developed a “double bubble” condition after a bilateral breast augmentation. This is my patient. I knew she was high risk for the condition based on her preoperative anatomy but I can fix it should it occur.
I adjusted her breast implants with a procedure that secured the bottom of the pockets so the implant will not move lower than her natural breast crease. It has held up well, and she wears a great supportive bra. Narrow breasts that sit up high are at risk for double bubble when larger implants are chosen. The problem is relatively easy to “fix” with a suture technique. Acellular Dermal Matrix can be helpful in some cases.
