Patient Details
This patient underwent a bilateral breast enhancement with 375cc silicone implants placed beneath the muscle through an incision in the breast crease. She is seen here two years after her enhancement. She thinks her breasts are “perfect” and that no one can tell that they are not hers. She has noticed with weight loss that she can see and feel small ripples on the lateral aspect of her breasts.
Two lessons are learned from her case; first, significant weight loss can make your implants more easily felt as there is less tissue on top of your implants to hide ripples. All implants will ripple over time weather they are saline or silicone but less so for silicone. Second, it’s imperative that a correct fitting bra is used that lifts the breasts and moves them to the middle of your chest so they don’t drop over time or move under your arms. Gravity is your enemy in terms of implant malposition over time.
