This patient is two weeks out from her bilateral breast augmentation using 240cc smooth implants placed beneath the muscle.
Before surgery, she had breasts of nice size and shape, but there was some imbalance in their proportions. The lower portion of her breasts was fuller than the upper portion, which created the appearance of slightly elevated nipple–areola complexes.
She was an excellent candidate for moderate-sized implants, as they add fullness to the upper part of the breasts. As you can see, this improves the overall balance of the breast shape, while also creating a more natural position and appearance of the nipple–areola complexes.
Her implants have also improved cleavage, reducing the distance between her breasts. The modest increase in size adds to what I often call the “impact appearance” of the breasts—something she absolutely loves.
As I have said many times, the ideal candidate for breast augmentation is someone who technically doesn’t need it. These patients benefit most from smaller implants and a harmonious relationship between implant size and natural breast tissue, which consistently produces the most natural and elegant results.
