Asian Breast Augmentation in Austin, Texas: What You Need To Know About Why It’s Different

asian-woman_295Yes, that’s right. An Asian breast augmentation is different than all the others for reasons I will describe. As a general rule, Asian skin is much tighter and the dermis is a lot thicker. The muscles of the chest are typically more stuck to the underlying ribs making pocket dissection more challenging. Most importantly, Asian peoples scar worse than average, so much thought needs to go into the incision for implant placement.

The tight nature of the skin and underlying tissues of the chest means the settling of the result takes longer. This refers to the relaxation of the tissues that allow the breast implant to drop down and for the skin to soften and the breasts become more mobile and natural.

Although I generally favor the incision at the bottom of the breasts, I will consider the incision around the areola and even under the armpit in order to help camouflage the scar. I will often recommend saline implants because the incision is smaller than the silicone variety.

Molding the breasts post operatively to obtain the best shape takes longer and more effort is needed. Someone who is strong and committed to this early chore is needed to help shape the breasts.
