This patient had a bilateral breast augmentation with 330cc high profile, smooth round silicone implants through an incision at the bottom of the breasts. She is the ideal candidate for this procedure as she starts off with ideal breasts. “The ideal patient for a breast augmentation is someone who doesn’t need it”. This means their pre treatment shape is perfect and the breast implant can often be smaller to complete the objective of fuller breasts particularly superiorly. The less than ideal patient for a breast augmentation is a patient with very small breasts and desires larger implants. What can happen is the weight of the breast implants simply overpowers the ability of the skin to support them and the consequences can include malposition, displacement, bottoming out, high ridding nipples, palpable or even visible implants and other issues. This is something all perspective breast augmentation patients need to understand so they choose a size that is ideal and also sustainable. The larger you go the harder you fall!
