When a patient shows me photographs of noses they like, I see an opportunity to understand something words alone may not communicate. “Smaller,” “more feminine,” and “natural” can mean very different things to different people.
That is why I value a conversation I call CTV: Confirm the Vision. Before rhinoplasty, we need to make sure we are working toward the same kind of result.
An inspiration photograph is a starting point for discussion. Is it the smooth profile? The narrower bridge? The refined tip? Perhaps you like that the nose complements the face without drawing attention to itself.
Identifying those details helps me understand your preferences. Photographs of noses you dislike can be equally helpful, particularly if you want to avoid an overly scooped profile, excessive tip rotation, or an operated appearance.
A photograph cannot tell us what is achievable for your nose. Skin thickness, cartilage strength, existing proportions, previous surgery, and breathing function all influence the surgical plan.
For example, thick nasal skin can limit how much fine definition becomes visible at the tip. A nose that looks attractive on someone else may also be poorly suited to your facial features.
My responsibility is to explain these considerations clearly and help translate your preferences into a realistic plan.
Bring a few carefully selected photographs and be prepared to explain what appeals to you in each one. My own rhinoplasty before-and-after gallery is a useful place to begin because it shows examples of my work and aesthetic approach.
Unfiltered photographs are preferable. Digital editing, camera angles, and lighting can create misleading impressions. Reference images help us communicate; they cannot guarantee a particular result.
Confirming the vision means understanding what you want, what I recommend, and what your anatomy allows.
My goal is a nose that looks natural, balanced, and appropriate for your face—your nose, thoughtfully refined.
