This is a 41 year old mother of two who was interested in a breast revision after a previous breast augmentation with saline implants. She really didn’t complain of much to me—I think she basically wanted to know what I thought.
Her breasts were odd shaped, small and “stuck on” in appearance. They was bottoming out of her implants and lateral displacement as well.
She is seen here with a breast revision using 550cc high profile silicone implants in the same pocket as well as the use of ADM (Acellular Dermal Matrix) to help build an internal bra to support her implants. Her breasts are fuller, symmetrical and more attractive. I removed 400 cc saline implants. At the time of her surgery, I found her pectoral muscle displaced upwards on her breast. That is why I had to use the ADM to help build an adequate internal support structure.
Having been in this profession for over twenty five years, I can tell you that you should never even consider a breast augmentation a routine procedure that can be performed by anyone with a medical certificate on their wall. There are some things that you don’t do and this woman is living proof of that. At the very least, her implants didn’t fit her figure, the implant pocket dissection must have been done poorly, and the excessive release of the pectoral muscle didn’t help matters one bit. The whole idea is to get it done the right way the first time and there will be a lot less aggravation and cost.
