This is a mother of two whose main complaint was the fullness on the lower part of her abdomen, particularly when she bends over. Despite lot’s of exercise the area doesn’t seem to change that much.
She is seen here after a mini tummy tuck and liposuction of her abdomen and her posterior flanks. Liposuction here is what creates a waist. The mini tuck simply tightens the skin on the lower abdomen with a scar that is typically very low at the level of the pubis. There is no scar around the belly button and there is usually no tightening of the abdominal fascia (It only tightens the skin between the umbilicus and the pubic area-loose skin at and above the belly button is not changed. This procedure is optimal on those patients that are relatively fit and whose problem is on the lower part of the abdomen and who have good skin and contour above the belly button.
At first thought, most patients would prefer a “mini tuck” over a “full tuck” but the reality of the situation is that they provide for completely different results. Ultimately, you and your trusted surgeon are the only ones who can make the best determination on which is best for you. A full tuck is “more” but it also delivers more and is a very common procedure that offers dramatic positive changes.
Her results are substantial. Her waist is narrower and her buttock is more shapely from the liposuction. The loose skin on the lower abdomen is gone. Her abdominal area is flatter and firmer. She can bend over without skin hanging. She does not have “muffin top.” Her clothing fits better. She feels better about herself. The scar is low and fading nicely at six months after her surgery.
