Breast Augmentation

Before And After Photos

This is a 41 year old woman, 5’5″ and 152 pounds seen here after a breast augmentation with 350cc high profile silicone implants placed beneath the muscle through an incision in the breast crease. These photos were taken six months after her procedure.

Boy, does she look different! Her breasts are fuller and more shapely, but something else is different. She lost over twenty pounds since her surgery! Apparently she had a divorce and she found that working out a lot was a great stress reliever. It’s all good if she is happy.

Regarding her breasts, she is about at the limit with her tissue dynamics and her implant size. As she loses weight, her breasts become smaller and her tissues thinner. This will make the breast implant more noticeable in certain ways, such as some traction wrinkling and stretching of the tissues. These changes are indeed “normal” but when there is less covering a breast implant it will become more noticeable.

This is one reason why you need to choose smaller implants if you have very little tissue. To make sure she enjoys her results long term, she needs to wear a very supportive bra. She will know the bra is working properly when she sees an abundance of cleavage when wearing it. This means the implants are supported by the bra “up and in” and takes the “load” off her tissues. I know this sounds a little like engineering-but it is!

As an aside, I had marked several areas on my liposuction worksheet at the time of her original visit. Now that she lost the weight she needs no liposuction. If you can simply lose the weight to achieve the body you want, it is far better than entertaining liposuction.
